Self Employed Mortgage Advice
Our mortgage brokers offer self employed mortgage advice amongst other services. Need help with finding a deal for you? Talk to us today.
If you are self employed then there is often a worry that you will not be able to get a mortgage. In reality though, it may be easier than you thought to get onto the property ladder!
When talking to some clients they assume that they are limited to the types of deals available because they are self employed. This is often not the case though! Most lenders will offer the same sort of products to self employed and employed people.
The difference between the two is when you have to prove how much you earn to the lender.
How much can you borrow?
You will generally have to provide two years worth of accounts to a mortgage lender. This is because your income is usually not guaranteed and may fluctuate every month.
Some lenders may allow only one years accounts but these deals are not as easy to come across.
When talking to our mortgage broker you will need the following:
- A passport or driving licence as photo ID
Proof of address – This can be a utility bill, for example
- Proof of deposit in your bank account (or a letter of intent from a relative)
- 2-3 years SA302
These documents will help in proving to a lender that you can make repayments on your mortgage every month.
